Corporate Bribery Is Bad for Business The US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) was enacted in 1977 for the purpose of responding to increased instances of bribery of foreign officials by US companies. The Act was intended to stop those corrupt practices in their tracks, and create "a level playing field for honest businesses, and restore public confidence in the integrity of the marketplace."
